Bale’s Batman Trilogy Ends of the Day: Now that shooting for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises has concluded, lead actor Christian Bale has revealed that the forthcoming film will be his last turn as the Caped Crusader.
“I wrapped a few days ago so that will be the last time I’m taking that cowl [Batman hood] off,” said Bale. “I believe that the whole production wrapped yesterday, so it’s all done. Everything’s finished. It’s me and Chris – that will be the end of that Batman era.”
Bale first starred as the Caped Crusader in Nolan’s 2005 franchise reboot, Batman Begins. Three years later, he stepped behind the mask again for the blockbusting sequel The Dark Knight. Together, the two films have made almost $1.4 billion internationally.
The Dark Knight Rises will be released in theaters on July 20th.
