Death of Napster - Bye Bye, good memories

Death of Napster of the Day

Death of Napster of the Day: Napster, the service that kicked off the modern age of peer-to-peer music sharing back in 1999, is no more.

Tomorrow, Napster merges with Rhapsody, which purchased all of Napster’s subscribers and assets from Best Buy last month. As part of the deal, Best Buy received a minority stake in Rhapsody.

Rhapsody is now the largest streaming music service in the U.S., although it faces competition from Spotify, which has Napster co-founder Sean Parker as an investor and board member.
