Music Reactive Sunglasses of The Day

neues party gadget!

Music Reactive Sunglasses of The Day: Originally invented by Alain Mikkli in the early 1980s, shutter shades effectively block out some of the sun’s rays while making a major fashion statement, and have been used by musicians in music videos since 1982 – most notably by Kanye West.

Recently, a fan of the iconic eyewear decided to throw a bit of technology into the mix by creating music reactive Venetian Blinders.

Adhering six multicolor tracks of EL wire to the slats of the shutter shades, which then connected to two control boxes, the technological fashion fan got a very basic V/U meter. The slats of the glasses pulse with each beat and light accordingly, putting a very modern spin on an already cool retro classic.

The results are quite impressive. (See above.)
